More OLD art!!!

Sun Nov 15, 2009, 10:37 PM
So...because I'm too lazy to produce anything new and cool, I've added some old, obsolete art!!! Yeah!!!!

OldGameStuff and OldComicStuff

Its old, but I still dig it:) I hope you will too.

Between 1994 and 2002 I was a professional comicbook colorist.
I sat around in my undies and colored cool comic art all day and people PAID me to do it!!! What a life!
I really enjoyed working with guys like Marc Silvestri, Joe Benitez,Dave Finch, Billy Tan, Eric Basaldua DwayneTurner,MikeTurner and
a bunch of other dudes that could draw like young gods.

Part of me still misses those days. Part of me definitely does NOT miss the headaches, deadlines and DRAMA.

I added a section in my Gallery just for the old comic stuff. Hope you dig.

I spent 8 years working in comics, 6 years in console games and now I work for BigFish, making casual downloadable Flash-based games.

Hello there :)

I just wanted to sincerely apologise for the perhaps impolite amount of favourites I selected from your gallery; I was just so taken by your work that I seem to have been quite carried away by my pleasurable viewing experience!

Consider me your newest fan

Hey Stacey...grab my whole gallery if you want! I promise I won't be offended:)

Consider your own gallery watched with pleasure.

I dig your artistic style, way with words and sense of humor.

The curves are a sweet, delicious bonus:)

Thank you!

I dig the piece in your gallery titled ';Pirate Menace on the Horizon'
A lot of thought went into it!
:iconthefightinggoddess:
First of all, thank you for spending time taking a look at my gallery

I'm curious about these thoughts..would you mind talking about them?

Maria...

As much as I like quick energetic sketches and paintings I REALLY like deep, story driven images like your ';Pirate-menace-on-the-horizon' picture.
I like to look at art that pulls me into a completely different(and very detailed) world than my own.
Your Pirate ship image has SO much happening in it. Who is the winged girl? Who is the mermaid? Is the ship in the distance really a threat? Maybe not! All of these questions are a springboard for my own imagination.

This kind of imagery takes an incredible amount of time and energy on the part of the artist but the reward for the artist(you) and the viewer is great!

In my opinion the two artists who do this kind of art best are Michael Whelan [link] and Lawrence AlmaTadema [link]

If you have the patience and dedication to do more images like ';Pirate-menace-on-the-horizon' I think you will make large waves in the art community:)

Thank you very much Steve,I feel really flattered by your words.

That was the "suspended mood" that I wanted to give to the picture but this last seems not to be very interesting to other artists of this community..
I've received just few comments for it (and I appreciate them so much, just to be clear) while I've seen a lot more appreciation to chibi poos with cute manga smiles..and this is not very stimulating for me..
so I'm trying other paths and other styles..

I LOVE the artists you've linked to me!
Thank you so much for even just putting my-artwork-kind and these gorgeous guys in the same sentence!

Hope to see you again on my page,I'd be really glad if you'd leave a comment to my upcoming artworks
Have a nice day
